The third molars in the lower and upper jaws are called wisdom teeth. There are four in total, one on each side of the jaws.

Should wisdom teeth be extracted?

Not every 20-year-old tooth needs to be extracted. Especially leaving the wisdom teeth in the mouth with normal relations with the opposing teeth allows these teeth to be used in later ages.
Wisdom teeth, whose position is not suitable, cause crowding in the anterior teeth and orthodontic disorders, and cause recurrent inflammation, should be extracted.

Should impacted wisdom teeth be extracted?

Teeth that do not cause any distress and that do not harm neighboring teeth and surrounding tissues in radiological examination do not need to be extracted.
Impacted wisdom teeth should be checked periodically.
