Prostheses correct the visual disturbances caused by bone loss by supporting the lips and cheeks. In addition, very aesthetic prostheses can be made with teeth selected for the face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you eat comfortably with prostheses?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Learning to eat with total dentures is like learning to ride a bike, although it is difficult at first, you can easily eat in a short time. Initially, it should be chewed on both sides with soft and small bites. When our brain learns to eat reflexively, chewing can be done easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do prostheses change speech?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Such problems are not seen in well-made prostheses. However, there may be problems with the sounds due to the tongue not getting used to the prosthesis at the beginning. Words that have problems with pronunciation should not be insisted on, because over time these sounds will improve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Should the prosthesis be worn for 24 hours?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For the first few days, the tissues need to be fitted to adapt. It should then be removed at night for the tissues to rest. It is recommended to remove it for a few hours during the day for patients who do not want to remove it at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are denture adhesives harmful?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Denture adhesives can be used in prostheses with low bone support. There is no harm in using it when it is cleaned every evening and new adhesive is applied every morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are the problems that I may encounter with the prosthesis?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is more difficult to get used to lower dentures than upper dentures. The tongue causes the lower prosthesis to move. Biting of the tongue, lips and cheek is normal. The liquid to be taken with meals will soften the food and make the chewing process more comfortable.<\/p>\n\n\n
